Zeus byl králem bohů,dárcem spravedlnosti. Jeho pravá ruka třímala hromoklín, který vrhal, aby potrestal ta, kdo porušili jeho právo.Jeho poslem byl orel.
Zeus byl nejmladčím synem Kronose a Rheii.Kronos bezmilosti polykal své děti kromě jednoho. Rheia schovala malého Dia (¨Zeuse) a místo jeho dala manželovi kámen zabalený v plenách. Zeus vyrostl na ostrově Kréta. Když byl dospělý, vydal se za svým otcem. Přinutil vyzvracet své děti, které v něm rostli a rozsekal otce na kousky a ty pak rozhodil na dno Tartaru. Oženil se se svou sestrou Hérou a měli spolu dvě děti: Árese a Hefaistona.
Zeus , ale byl nevěrný manžel. Se svou sestrou Démétér měl dceru Persefonu ( Koré). S bohyní Léto měl zase dvojčata Artemis a Apollona. Další děti byli synové a dcery smrtelnic.Velká většina byli lidé,ale objevili se i bohové.
Spolu s bratry a sestrami pozazil zbývajících devět titánů. Ze začátku to bylo nevyrovnané, ale později vyhrála strana bohů.
Jeho moc byl hlavně blesk.
